Inland Voyage<\/em><\/strong> is a work of openness, a quest into the unknown. It explores one of\nthe works of Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson<\/strong>, his short travelogue An Inland Voyage<\/em> written in 1878, which recounts with humor and modernity the canoe journey of Stevenson and his friend Walter Grindlay Simpson on the rivers and canals of the Sambre and the Oise from Anvers to Pontoise.<\/p>\n

Les premie\u0300res pages du livre nous font glisser doucement au fil de l\u2019eau, jusqu\u2019a\u0300 entrer dans un monde en e\u0301quilibre entre le re\u0302ve et la re\u0301alite\u0301. Les images du photographe Quentin Pruvost<\/strong>, parti sur les traces de l\u2019e\u0301crivain, louvoient entre l\u2019ombre et la lumie\u0300re. Elles re\u0301ve\u0300lent des e\u0301le\u0301ments e\u0301tonnants, des illusions, des souvenirs de re\u0302ves passe\u0301s et d\u2019aventures possible<\/strong>s dans les paysages et les rencontres, dans la ve\u0301ge\u0301tation foisonnante, dans les constructions humaines le long des berges de la Sambre et de l\u2019Oise. Le lecteur est emporte\u0301 par le courant, charrie\u0301 par les songes, suspendu tel un funambule entre le tangible et l\u2019invisible.<\/p>\n

In the middle of the book, dream time appears. The images of the rivers slide towards the tale<\/strong>. There are black and white photographs with silver strokes.<\/p>\n

In the third part, the reader discovers mysterious apparitions and pareidolia<\/strong> captured by Quentin Pruvost, as if he rubbed shoulders with Stevenson's creative spirit between dreams and the physical world. At the end of such journey, the reader, more sensitive to the signs sent through dreams, will perhaps have changed a little...<\/p>\n

L\u2019ouvrage se termine par deux postfaces : l\u2019une signe\u0301e par l\u2019e\u0301crivain et journaliste Herve\u0301 Leroy<\/strong> noue un dialogue entre l\u2019oeil (photographique) et le verbe (litte\u0301raire), l\u2019autre signe\u0301e par le journaliste Jean-Philippe Mailliez<\/strong> nous emme\u0300ne au coeur de la vie aventureuse du conteur Stevenson.<\/p>\n
