Pierre Wat<\/b>\u00a0(n\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris en 1965) est un\u00a0historien de l’art,\u00a0critique d’art et professeur d’universit\u00e9 fran\u00e7ais. Sp\u00e9cialiste du\u00a0romantisme\u00a0europ\u00e9en, il est notamment l’auteur d’une th\u00e8se parue sous le titre\u00a0Naissance de l’art romantique\u00a0: peinture et th\u00e9orie de l’imitation en Allemagne et en Angleterre<\/i>\u00a0(Paris, Flammarion, 1998). Il s’int\u00e9resse en outre \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation contemporaine et a publi\u00e9 des ouvrages importants sur\u00a0Claude Viallat\u00a0(2005, 2006) et\u00a0Pierre Buraglio\u00a0(2001).<\/p>\n

Depuis 2010, il enseigne l’histoire de l’art contemporain \u00e0 l’universit\u00e9 Paris I. Il a aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 ma\u00eetre de conf\u00e9rences en histoire de l’art contemporain \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9 Fran\u00e7ois-Rabelais de Tours, conseiller scientifique \u00e0 l’Institut national d’histoire de l’art\u00a0(1999-2004), professeur \u00e0 l’universit\u00e9 Aix-Marseille I et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole du Louvre. En 2013, il a fait partie du comit\u00e9 de soutien \u00e0 l’entr\u00e9e de\u00a0Gustave Courbet\u00a0au\u00a0Panth\u00e9on.<\/p>\n
